“It’s always been my goal to create fashionable clothing that allows creative, independent women to look feminine while feeling comfortable and confident.
When I found the company, there was a void for stylish alternatives in women’s golf apparel. Although my focus started with golf, LIJA has grown to be a lifestyle brand offering unique looks that women can incorporate into all aspects of their life.” The designs are inspired by today's busy lifestyle and the need for clothes that transition from one activity to the next.
We know that in order to wear garments for golf or any other sport, you need to have comfort, ease of movement and of course functionality. Women that wear LIJA want the functionality but they also want style. Our product allows them to take LIJA to another part of their life. Our designs allow these women to work in it, play in it and live in it.”
Linda Hipp, born and raised in Vancouver, B.C is the Founder, President, and Designer for LIJA (previously Hyp Golf).
As an avid golfer and having a lifetime interest in fashion, Linda recognized a need in the women’s golf market for a more fashion driven line of apparel that would meet the increased demands of a younger, more style-conscious demographic that were starting to play golf. After extensive research, which solidified her understanding of the market, she set out to become a leader in the golf apparel industry.
Initially focusing on the Canadian market with her apparel influenced by both European trends and West Coast style, Linda garnered a widespread reputation as one of the hottest designers in athletic fashion. Her innovative designs, featuring a variety of fabrics from across the globe – including some of the most advanced technical materials in clothing – soon found a sizeable consumer fan base.
At the start of her venture, Linda was honored to be named as a grant recipient of the Matinee Fashion Foundation Award – a foundation that annually recognized and funded select Canadian design talents to further their business. Since then, she has also received recognition as a Business in Vancouver Top 40 Under 40 winner, one of Canada’s Top Women Entrepreneurs, plus a prestigious APEX award on her repertoire. Her successful business has been recognized by Business in Vancouver as one of British Columbia’s 50 Fastest Growing Companies, named one of Canada’s Fastest Growing Companies by Profit Magazine and Canadian Company of the Year by Score Golf.
In addition to being on the Board of Directors for Apparel BC, Linda is a member of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and was part of the first Forum for Women Entrepreneurs E-Series in Vancouver.
